*Topic: Doing the Father’s will*
“ _But God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die” (Genesis 3:3 NIV)_
One rich man had a servant, one day the man prepared to travel and told his servant to take care of the house, eat and enjoy himself till he comes back. The rich man gave his servant instruction not to open a box in the sitting room, that any day he opens that box, he will lose his job.
The rich man traveled and for a month he was not back. The servant lacked nothing in the house. One day, the servant said to “I will go and open that box and see what is in it and close it back since my master is not at home”. He did as he said, and when he opened the box lo and behold in it was a big serpent. On seeing it he ran out of the house and the serpent escaped. He was so much afraid of coming back to the house.
Unknowing to him, his master was on his way back home and in one hour time, the master arrived. He saw his servant feeling very cooled and afraid; he did not ask him why but went to the sitting room and checked the box which he had ordered him not to open. Tha thrown t was how the servant lost his job and was out of the house. facing
People are always great choices on daily basis. Disobedience occurs when people choose not to follow God’s plan of living. In the Bible there are great men and women who failed because of disobedience.
God has given us the commandment to obey our parents that in doing that we will live long (Exodus 20:12). Jesus Christ our master also gave us a command to go and make disciples of all nations, to baptize them and to teach them to observe all He has commanded us (Matthew 28:19, 20). This great commission is our mission and we have promised to go. Obedience to this commission is very important, rise up and go brightening the corners where you are and be blessed.
*Song*
When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His word
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey
*Refrain*
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
*Prayer*
Father Lord in heaven I thank you for the gift of life and good health. I live in a world full of disobedience which has resulted in pains, sorrows, crisis and death. I ask Lord for your grace to live in obedience to your word and to do your will always. Thank you Lord for granting my request, I ask in Jesus name, Amen!
