Uzodimma Showcases Projects After Two Years In Office

While congratulatory messages have been coming from friends, supporters and we’ll wishers of Senator Hope Uzodimma led government of Imo State with the “Shared Prosperity” mantra, he has some strategic projects to his credits in the development of the state.

Governor Uzodimma has embarked on appreciable number of projects for the purposes of making life more meaningful to the people of the state.

During project tour with Online reporters, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Networking, Chantel Chinyere emphasised the need for Imo people to appreciate the effort of Governor Hope Uzodimma despite political and security landmines against him.

“You are all aware that His Excellency is celebrating two years on the saddle.

“He came in to meet some security challenges, which he has fought and is still fighting to ensure the state and it’s citizenry are safe. And to the glory of God he is doing well.

“He also met a state where assets were literarily appropriated by a family, including that of the masses. He stood his ground and recovered most of these assets, K.O Mbadiwe University, which is worth over N42 billion.

She said such was a huge achievement but that Uzodimma still did not rest on his oats, saying that’s the reason she has chosen to conduct Online News Platforms round for them to see things themselves.

Among some of the places visited are Relief market road, Government House roundabout, Orlu road roundabout, Wetheral Road, Chukwuma Nwaoha road, which bears underground tunnel.

Chantel’s statement in parts;

“It is crystal clear that His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma has done well within two years he has piloted the affairs of Imo State.

“He came into government to meet a heavy burden of appropriation of government and people’s asset to a family. He fought it through the Panel of Inquiry, today, those whose property were taken from them can now smile.

“You’re all aware of the recovery of the University in Ogboko built with Imo funds and was appropriated but today that N42 billion worth of assets in K.O Mbadiwe University has been recovered.

“In the area of infrastructures and roads, the state surely was in a dire situation as moving around Owerri Municipal became a nightmare because of primitive roundabout system we met on ground. All that are in the past now. Government House roundabout, Fire Service, Imo State University and Warehouse roundabouts have all been redesigned to meet international standard with functional traffic lights.

“Relief Market road was nightmare before Governor Uzodimma fixed that road and the residential streets around that axis. Today it is zoom-zoom. We are not unaware of Chukwu-Nwaoha link road that was totally Abandoned and was more of a pond. Today, there is underground tunnel that collects all the water from MCC Road, Chukwuma Nwaoha and other estates around the area to Ota-miri, a feat that is being applauded.

“Over hundred kilometer of road from Owerri to Orlu zone and from Owerri to Okigwe high way are under construction.

“It is strange to hear anything about pipe borne water in Imo State because that is non existent. Today all that are in the past with the revamping of the Water Corporation, re-equipped with the latest pumping systems and other filtering machines.

“These are great feats. Despite security challenges, which are supposed to be distraction, Governor Uzodimma has remained focused to deliver on his electoral Promises to Ndi Imo”.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor conducted the Newsmen round the Owerri Municipality for over Six hours and could not finish but promise to continue some other time.

The newsmen observed that so far Uzodimma has remained focused and it is expected that when he is done with the ongoing projects in the state generally, Imo will surely be much better for it and that will also help the a rebound for the dwindling economy of the state.
