NCPC Boss Admonishes Nigerians To Live In Peace For A Better Nation
The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission,Rev Dr Yakubu Pam, has enjoined Nigerians to live in peace and love one another for a better Nation.
He made this disclosure this weekend in Jos during the post mortem memorial peace lecture organized by the International Human Rights Commission in Nigeria in honour of his mother, late Ngo Zimi Pam who died on 15th January,2022 in Jos at 97 years.
In the words of the NCPC boss,” if we all understand that we need to live well with one another, Nigeria will be a better place for all”. He stated further,” all of us should work together for the unity of this country”.
He appreciated the guest speakers and participants who travelled from different parts of the country to grace the event.
Earlier in his remarks, the Country Head of the International Human Rights Commission in Nigeria and West Africa, Amb. Friday Sani, affirmed that IHRC decided to celebrate late Ngo Zimi Pam for living a life worthy of emulation.
He averred that as a global organization, the IHRC is not just proud of the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam who is the Chairman of the Advisory board of IHRC in Nigeria, but was also proud of the mother that gave birth to him.
Ambassador Sani explained that late Ngo Zimi Pam had done great things for humanity, stating that his son Rev. Dr Yakubu Pam is a living product of her good work on earth.
He stressed that the idea of a Diplomatic post mortem award in honour of late Ngo Zimi Pam was to prove that recognition is not only for the living , rather is also for those who had contributed positively to humanity while they were alive.
The Country Head of IHRC,stated that their attention were drawn to Plateau state as a focal point for peace building by one of the indigenes of the state who is a member of IHRC in Nigeria.
Lectures were presented by guest speakers among whom was Sheikh Ahmed Bello from Kaduna state who spoke extensively on the importance of peace and religious tolerance.
The highlight of the event was the presentation and decoration of the Diplomatic Post Mortem award to late Ngo Zimi Pam which was received by the wife of the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Pastor Lucy Pam. The Country Head, IHRC in Nigeria urged her to sustain the legacies of late Ngo Zimi Pam.
The remains of late Ngo Zimi Pam will be laid to rest on 19th February, 2022 at Tahei Gyel, Jos South Local Government of Plateau state. The service of Songs was held in her honour on 18th February, 2022 at Lagfield Event Hall, Rayfield Jos which was well attended by high profile personalities both within and outside the country.
