Ngor-Okpala Victory And Emancipation Story

It is a truism that All Progressives Congress knacked a resounding victory at the just concluded House of Assembly Bye-Election, as Blyden Amajirionwu now talks for the people at the chambers.

The victory is not all about it. Yes, the rural dwellers of Ngor-Okpala had waited for this news relentlessly as they had been heart broken for too long.

They were serially deceived by the foxes of the People’s Democratic Party. They told stories of bloodline, cousins and other relationships. In deference to this deception, they bought it and of course few of their sons and daughters were elevated to conspirator-bougeousie who only got a pittance at the expense of the the multitude of the suffering people of Ngor-Okpala and beyond.

It is foolhardy to note that Ngor-Okpala despite being one of the food basket local government areas of the State, they were abandoned by those promised the elusive eldorado.

Blyden Amajirionwu saw this dangerous trend that would do anybody any good and chose to radically take a walk. He was a worker who toiled for PDP but was only good for crumbs and settling for mobilising his kinsmen for voting. He was never a sellable candidate for elective posts.

When Governor Hope Uzodimma spoke about abandonment of the people Ngor-Okpala, he was right. Some of the so called leaders in opposition would rather use acquire people’s land at a giveaway price only to abandoned it undeveloped.

Pleading not to behave like others and making real his promise, Governor Uzodimma has already begun the process of admitting the local government with huge natural resources into Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission.

Yes, Uzodimma is right in all ramifications. The location of the land naturally places the status and by virtue of the vulnerability of the contagious effect the hydrocarbon from crude combustion.

While we encourage other sources of revenue other than relying on Crude oil, Ngor-Okpala has enough in commercial quantities.

Meanwhile, politico-socio-economically, it boasts of huge human resources drawn from its numerical strengths. Of course, it has cash crops and other exotic plants that can be converted dto foreign exchange.

With Governor’s promise and already being kept, the sad story of abandonment is coming to an end. It will be an emancipation story that will never go away in history.
