*Topic: GOD’S HOLY PEOPLE*

” _For you are a holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.” – Deuteronomy 14:2._

The people of Israel were standing at the edge of the promised land, preparing to enter into God’s promises. Moses was delivering his final sermons, instructing the people so that they will be successful when they enter the land.

In Deuteronomy 14-18, the Lord through Moses gave a picture of what he has come to do for His people and what he expects of His people. God’s people are called to be holy because they are His children (14:1-2). The Lord will do great things for his holy people. He will cancel their debts and set them free from their self-inflicted slavery. He will give them leaders who will rule with justice and righteousness.

They will have a king appointed by the Lord and priests who will dedicate their lives to work on behalf of the people. Then, one day, they will have a prophet like Moses arise who they will listen to. These are the pictures found in the last sections of Deuteronomy.

Now the Lord through Moses gave the people pictures of what life will look like in the land they are about to enter. God calls for the people to act righteously and to love each other.

*SONG*
Who is on the Lord’s side? Who will serve the King?
Who will be His helpers, other lives to bring?
Who will leave the world’s side? Who will face the foe?
Who is on the Lord’s side? Who for Him will go?
By Thy call of mercy, by Thy grace divine,
We are on the Lord’s side
Savior, we are Thine!

*PRAYER*
Dear Lord, may I be worthy to be called your holy child and may I in every little corner I find myself represent you in Jesus name, Amen.
