Uzodimma’s Aide, Bola Adigun, Her Team visit the Ministry of Mines and Solid Mineral.
The Technical Assistant to Governor Imo State Governor, Bola Adigun and her team paid a working visit to the Commissioner for Mines and Solid Minerals, Imo State, Hon. Dr. Elias Emedom in his office recently.
Speaking during the visit, Mrs. Bola Adigun said their visit to the Ministry of Mines and Solid Minerals was to familiarize themselves with the functions of the Ministry and find out what projects the Ministry plans to embark on in order of priority that will require government funding with a view to sourcing the needed finance and other needs in promoting the mines and Solid Minerals industry in the State.
She said that the move was important be LL Imo State Government will be able to achieve the desired objectives in establishing the Ministry of Mines and Solid Minerals and increase the economic growth of the mining industry and increase in the Internally Generated Revenue of the state for the good of the people of Imo State.
Summarizing, the Technical Assistant said that their mission to the ministry was to understand what projects they have,and what support they needed to implement those projects.
In his response, the Hon. Commissioner thanked them for their visit, commended Senator Hope Uzodimma for creating the new Ministry for the interest of Imolites and with a view to bringing sanity in the mining industry in the state.
Dr. Elias Emedom pointed out that as a new Ministry, they were yet to be equiped with necessary office materials needed to function as other Ministry but hoped that governor in his readiness to always assist his commissioners function effectively will not delay at assisting the new ministries take off fully.
He further said that take off fund was needed to help the ministry purchase furniture, Stationery, etc. He presented the team a work plan document relevant to their visit.
The Technical Assistant team was made up of Bola Adigun, Alhaji Hayatou and Chief Chidi Ugwuoke.
