We Must Not Close Our Eyes To Place Of Women In Nation Building – Madumere

Imo former Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has admonished men, especially those in authority not to turn a blind eye to the strategic position of women in nation building.

The former Deputy Governor, Prince Madumere made the call through his Adviser, Media and Publicity, Uche Onwuchekwa in commemoration of International Women’s Day.

The founding Chieftain of All Progressives Congress describes women as necessary instrument that must coalesced with their male counterpart to achieve a more cohere, productive and vibrant nation.

He further observed that every progressive nation state must carry women along at all levels of national life.

His words: “No forward looking nation ignores the women. They are the fulcrum of every home. They are stabilisers, great mobilisers and natural teachers.

“The first nurture every citizen receives is from his mother. Women are great teachers. They are patient, loving and emotionally positive.

“The theme for 2022 International Women’s Day, is “Gender equality today for sustainable tomorrow”. This is timely.

” Women are gifted. When given the opportunity they have always surpassed set goals. We are aware that our women have excelled beyond imagination.

“In our history, we cannot deny the fact the women took our bullets and even shielded the men from harm from the colonialists. Their Names both in the past and present are uncountable.

“If by the request, they are asking that they be recognised, given the same training, considered in vital political positions, they are not asking for too much because they are asking based on merit.

“Equality for sustainable tomorrow does not mean erosion of respect and submission and deference to their husbands.

“Look around the world how women interventions have changed countries and believe that if given the opportunity, our women will do wonders in every facet of national life”.
