Kaduna State Police Command yesterday paraded 200 suspected bandits and 20 armed robbers.

Among those paraded were the prime suspect in the murder of Air Vice-Marshal Maisaka (retd), and suspected bandits who allegedly killed over 15 persons at different times in the state.

Commissioner of Police Mudasiru Abdullahi, who paraded the suspects at Command Headquarters, said 18 AK47 rifles, 2000 live ammunition, 11 Pump Action guns, 10 locally-fabricated pistols, seven motor vehicles and nine motorcycles, among other items, were recovered from the suspects arrested between January and March this year.

Abdullahi, represented by spokesman Muhammad Jalige, said the relative peace in the state was the result of the deployment of special units in the state as well as the synergy with other agencies.

He said, “The sum of these approaches resulted in the successes we are showcasing today.

“The relative serene security atmosphere in the state is as a result of the strategic and tactical deployment of the special units of the force, undercover operatives, conventional police personnel as well as the purposeful synergy within the security architecture in the state. The sum of these approaches resulted in the successes we are showcasing today,” he said.
