Pomp As Prof Emeghara Receives ‘Rosy Gift’ Of Motorized Wheel Chair From Old Girl ( VIDEO)

The Emeghara family could not hold back in celebrating the best gift of given to their father, Prof. Chukwugozie Godfrey Emeghara.

For his Old Boys and Girls and Great Ife Alumni Association, they simply visited their man to rejoice with him.

During the formal hand-over ceremony which took place at Prof Emeghara’s Owerri residence, the atmosphere created room for glowing tributes to the Professor of Maritime and a great mobiliser.

For his Old Boys and Girls, he is popurlarly known as GCE; but for his Alumni Association members, he is simply known as Commander.

Commander is a man who has defiled nature, breaking every human acceptable norms and perceptions. A man who was born almost incapacitated but proved everyone wrong.

He was an erudite scholar and an Aluta Commander in Great Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, where in his condition, he led many battles for the improvement of the welfare of both lecturers and fellow undergraduates. A man full of energy who abhors pity.

As an Old Boy of Awo-omamma Comprehensive Secondary School, Awo-omamma, Oru East local government area of Imo State, he was simply a genius. Despite his challenges, he stood up to be counted in his excellence in academics. He was a student-teacher who taught his mates and helped them out of their confusions in Science subjects.

Speaking to NewsTrack Nigeria, Prof. Emeghara who could not betray his heart of gratitude said he had sought and prayed for providence so as to procure a motorized wheel chair to help him around the school especially during his lectures. He never thought that such thought had preoccupied the mind of an Amazon with a beautiful heart – Lady Rose Ogbuene.

Lady Rose who is based in the United States passed out from Awo-omamma Comprehensive Secondary School some years senior to Emeghara. According to the Sir. Emeka Ugoanyanwu, General Manager, Imo State Water Corporation, Lady Ogbuene only learned of Prof. Emeghara’s condition on a chat platform and decided in her mind to sow into Professor’s life.

That personal pledge was fulfilled on Saturday, March 5, 2022. As a man who appreciates every effort by every human being, he invited friends and well wishers to join him to thank God for using Lady Ogbuene to change his life.

Prof. is a man of grace who has become a role model to many. He remains one of the personalities who have proved that there is ability is disability. This goes to show that whatever a man puts his mind to and work towards it is achievable.

During prayers and thanksgiving to Governor, Reverend Brendan Anyanaso who is also an Old BoyAEP/AS prayed in thanksgiving;
“God you made him a professor even in his condition and you have preserve your son. He is full of gratitude to you and we are thankfully father…” We pray that the gift will not be a problem to him. No accident shall befall. The chair was his desire not knowing God had already prepared the way out for him. For our sister, Rose who chose to gift, may God bless her, replenish her pocket and also meet her at the point of need”.

The cleric also prayed for the good health for Prof. Emeghara and preservation of his family.

Meanwhile, we had creme de la creme of the State who witnessed the occasion, including the Vice President of the Association, Emeka Ugoanyanwu among many others.

Former Central Bank Senior Staff who is now a retiree who Prof. Emeghara payed tribute to was present. He said that Osuji dedicated himself to take care of him in his condition and will never forget the godly man he has been.

Members of the Old Boys confirmed that Prof. Emeghara has hardly missed a meeting of the Association and most times have always arrived for time and the same spirit and zeal he has always put in Great Ife Alumni Association.

Prof. Emeghara and a an Aluta singer in appreciation did a song for Lady Rose for her heart of gold and pray God to bless her.

He used the opportunity to thank everyone who helped him in one way or the order.

Emeghara would always do something extra-ordinary. He is from Ogwa Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State. Rather than settle at home, he sought a model school far away from his home town. The same way he chose to attend University of Ife in far away now Osun State. His life remains mistry and prayers of many are with him.
