*Topic: Notice your blessings too*

_During these 40 years, your clothes did not wear out. And your feet did not swell. Deuteronomy 8:4_

One characteristic that is common to most of us is how quickly we notice pains, troubles and problems (about which we grumble) and how slowly we notice blessings, help, and opportunities for praise.
We behave like the Israelites who during their wilderness march complained constantly (see the Bible’s book of Numbers). And it wasn’t as if their hardships were imaginary. To the contrary, their journey was hard on everybody. Camping for decades with several millions other people in close proximity sounds like no fun to me. We would probably have failed some of God’s tests too, like panicking when there was no water.
Moses led the people well. He reminded them of the horrible slavery and genocide that they had escaped in Egypt. He celebrated their steady, miraculous manna food supply. And he reminded them gently: “Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years” (Deuteronomy 8:4). His hearers probably looked at their clothes and their friends’ clothes and said, “now that you mention it, I am still wearing the same tunic and cloak from 40 years ago. And hey—so are you!”
Do you notice God’s blessings in your life? Do you go to school? Did you pass an exam recently? Were your parents just spared an expensive hospital stay? Is every one in your family all alive? Do you have food to eat every time you are hungry? Do you have a roof – a house to hide you from the rain and sun? Was your family just saved from what would have been a fatal accident? Does God still love you?
Sometime today, sit down and write a few things for which you are thankful and you too will say like that Psalmist, “Oh how great is Your goodness which You have laid up for those who fear you.

*SONG*
When upon life’s billows
You are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged
Thinking all is lost
Count your many blessings
Name them one by one
And it will surprise you
What the lord has done

Refrain
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done

Are you ever burdened
With a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy
You are called to bear?
Count your many blessings
Every doubt will fly
And you will keep singing
As the days go by

*PRAYER*
Father, I am grateful for all that You have done for me, the ones that I see and the ones, that I do not see. In anyway I have fallen short of Your glory and expectations by counting my problems instead of Your Blessings in my life, Please, have mercy and forgive me. Please, give me the grace to continue to show my gratitude to You, by living my life to please You,in Jesus name, amen
