Legal Icon, Barr. Nwaopara Declares Interest For Imo Assembly

– Hosts 12 APC Ward Chairman, Inaugurates Campaign Coordinators

A renowned Owerri based senior legal practitioner, Barr. Ikechukwu Nwaopara has declared interest to represent the largest local government in Nigeria in Imo State House of Assembly.

The fiery activist lawyer made the declaration recently when he played host to All Progressives Congress 12 Ward Executive Members.

Nwaopara who is of Mbaitoli descent hails from Ubakuru in Amaike ward, Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.


He insisted that the era of allowing mediocres superintend the future of the Mbaitoli people is over, saying that he has been visible in the affairs of the local government and is ready to use his negotiating prowess and almost 20 years of legal practice to ensure effective representation.

Meanwhile, he told the executive members of the party that he has called them because he is a loyal party man and believes in following due process.

“I have called you this day as the leaders and steer men of our great party, All Progressives Congress, Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.

“Politics is about who gets what, how and when. I am ready to serve and to be an emissary of development to my great people of Mbaitoli.

“I cannot make it alone without you. First, our respected party leaders and faithful must be carried along. What is important is that you all know what I stand for and I have fought a good fight for my people empty handed. I am ready to go the extra mile for Mbaitoli by working strategically with others to change the tide.

“Rest assured that I shall sponsor bills that will better the lots of Ndị Mbaitoli and Imo State at large. I have done the job of advocacy but I have to move further if you arm me with political power.

“I have represented Mbieri people well and I have not failed in standing up in times of challenges for Ndị Eze, just the same way I carry the challenges of every Mbaitoli person on my shoulders”.

His declaration of interest was followed by inauguration of his campaign Coordinators drawn from the 12 Wards of Mbaitoli LGA

He charged them to take the message to all the nooks and crannies of Mbaitoli, ensuring that those who haven’t registered do so without further delay.

Nwaopara’s declaration received a thunderous ovation with community leaders and others throwing their weights behind him.

Nwaopara’s political trajectory is well known coupled with his heroic battle against past evil regimes.

He has also faced injustice, which he fought frontally through the courts. His epic showing shows his fearlessness even in front of danger.

Like it is said, people deserve the kind of leader they produce. Nwaopara left the word: “I have presented myself to represent our people. As a democrat, I can only appeal to my wonderful people… The rest of the business lies with them and I trust that my people have the inner eyes to see and make their choice. I am very optimistic that I will represent my people.

Responding to Barr. Nwaopara’s declaration and reason he is the best to represent the local government, Hon Nick Anusiem, APC Amaike ward Chairman commended him for having proven himself as a man of integrity.

He also described Nwaopara as a good party man who has always been supportive to the party and its growth.

He assured him of a level playing ground if he does not emerge a sole or consensus candidate for the party.

He further commended him for his visibility and effort in ensuring that the party is well positioned in all ramifications.
