Abuja: Gunmen Abduct Traditional Ruler
Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped the traditional ruler of Bukpe community in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Hassan Shamidozhi.
The monarch was said to have been abducted at gunpoint while taking some fresh air in front of his palace.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, the monarch’s brother, Malam Jibrin D. Gimba, said the gunmen invaded the area around 9:32 pm on Wednesday.
Gimba, who is the Chief Imam of the Community’s Central Mosque said: “:I just walked into my house after his palace when he said he wanted to take some shower after which he will come out rest in front of his palace to take some fresh air.
“Some few minutes later, I started hearing a gunshot. I watched through my window and discovered that the kidnappers had whisked him away.”
The attack was the third in the community in recent times.
As at the time of filing this report, the kidnappers were yet to make any contact with the family.
When contacted to confirm the incident, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adeh did not pick her call nor did she reply to her text messages.
But Police have been notified with some officers visiting the community.
