How Hoodlums Bombed Home Of Uzodimma’s Commissioner

Hoodlums continued their destruction spree in Imo State in the night of Thursday, March 31 when they set ablaze the home of the state Commissioner for Labour, Employment and Productivity, Chief Ford Ozumba.

Our correspondent gathered that the miscreants throw petrol bombs into the expansive compound in Umuhu Okabia Community in Orsu Local Government Area of the state, razing the structure in it.

It was learnt that no life was lost as there was nobody in the house at the time of the incident.

Speaking on telephone on Friday morning, Chief Ozumba said there was no casaulty because there was nobody in the house at the time of the attack.

Speaking on telephone on Friday morning, Chief Ozumba said there was no casaulty because there was nobody in the house at the time of the attack.

According to him, he was told the malefactors threw petrol bomb into the compound and burnt down my family house.

Ozumba said; “We were all in Owerri only to learn this morning that my family house had been burnt down.

“I was told that the attackers wreaked the havoc in the dead of the night. They threw petrol bomb into the compound.

“What a sad day. My family compound in my village has been razed down by hoodlums last night.”

Chief Ozumba becomes the third commissioner in the cabinet of the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma to have his home come under fire.

The homes of Chief Cyprian Okechukwu Akaolisa, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Hon. Declan Mbadiwe Emelumba, Commissioner for Information and Strategy had been similarly torched.

The home of the member representing Orsu Constituency in the state legislature, Ekene Nnodumele was also burnt down last year.

Interestingly, these commissioners and lawmaker hail from Orlu zone which has turned into a flashpoint since the beginning of the Uzodimma administration.

The spokesman of the state Police Command, CSP Michael Abattam could not respond to enquiries on the incident before press time.
