Man Allegedly Smashes One-Month-Old Baby, Razes Home With Wife Inside
Operatives of the Lagos Police Command have arrested a man for allegedly smashing his one-month-old daughter to death.
The suspect, identified as Benedict Anieze, allegedly smashed the baby in a feat of anger at their 5, Pipeline Road, Idimu residence, following a disagreement with his wife, Promise Okon.

The suspect, identified as Benedict Anieze, allegedly smashed the baby in a feat of anger at their 5, Pipeline Road, Idimu residence, following a disagreement with his wife, Promise Okon.
He was alleged to have also set their house ablaze with the dead baby and his wife inside. They were however saved by neighbours, who rushed to rescue the woman.
The woman was subsequently taken to the police station where she narrated what transpired between them and how her husband suddenly smashed their baby down before setting their home ablaze.
Police sources said the suspect who confessed to the crime, claimed he was under a spell to do it.
Confirming the incident, police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police (SP), said the Lagos Command was treating the matter as a case of murder and arson.
He said: “The suspect has been arrested and would be transferred to the State Criminal and Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, on Tuesday (today).”
