*Topic: Views of life*

_At that time there was no king in Israel. People did whatever they felt like doing. Judges 21.25_

There are 2 views in life. What we see and what God sees. Whose lens are you viewing form?
Scripture declares that in the days when there was no king in Israel, the people also viewed life from their own view. They did what they thought was right in their own mind. They had abandoned God’s Word as their standard for right and wrong. The view from their lens of “me, myself and I” lead them into doing what was “right” in their own eyes. As a result, everyone lived by their own rules. Their only standard was, “What feels right to me. When people ignore God’s Word, there was no limit to how low the society could sink.
Who decides what is right’? Who sets the standards for what should be right? The Creator God or man whom God created? Which path have you found yourself on today? Where has the lens of “me, myself and I” led you so far? Where is it leading you? In which direction has it taken you? To God or apart from God?
There are many sincere people who want to do right, but they want to decide for themselves what is “right”, good and evil. The consequences of viewing life from the lens of “me, myself and I” are deadly according to scripture. The danger in living and doing what appears to be “right” in our own eyes is found in Proverb 14:12, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
The call today is to fear God (reverence and respect Him and His word as authority in our lives), depart from evil and not be wise in our own eyes.
Have you gotten to a place where you now believe that you do not need God’s intervention in your life? Or believe that you could make every decision on your own apart from the consideration of God and His Word?
God knows your ways. Today is a brand new day. A day to make a fresh new start with God, a day to clear your vision, a day to change your lens and the direction of your life now and in the future. As you cry out to God for forgiveness and commit yourself to live by His standards rather than your own, He will pardon you, revive you and receive you unto Himself

*Song*
Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

*Prayer*
Dear Jesus! I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life. I ask your forgiveness. Help me to know You as my Savior and King – the only way; that I may know what God wants of me; and not live as the world does; but be led by the Holy Spirit; and that I may serve God with all of my life. Amen
