President Muhammadu Buhari, governors, Senate Chief Whip Orji Uzor Kalu and other eminent Nigerians have felicitated the President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, on his 65th year birthday anniversary yesterday.

A statement in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said: “President Buhari rejoices with Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, on his 65th birthday on April 10, 2022, joining family members, friends and associates to celebrate the milestone with the business magnate…

“As Alhaji Dangote turns 65, President Buhari affirms the footprints of the consummate businessman in key sectors of the economy, and the remarkable results achieved in production and supply of food items, making him a household name. More recently, his dynamism in buoying the economy came through heavy investments in building Africa’s largest refinery, fertiliser manufacturing company, and cement factories.”

The Northern Governors’ Forum, in a message by its Chairman and Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong,  described Dangote as a source of pride to the North, Nigeria, Africa and the world as he has demonstrated uncommon industry, patriotism and business prowess throughout his life.

A statement by his spokesman, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, quoted Lalong as saying the northern governors were excited about the role that Africa’s richest business man has played, and continues to play in creating jobs and fighting unemployment.

Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, who congratulated Dangote through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mary Noel-Berje, described the celebrant as the highest employer of labour in Africa who has made a mark in the World Economic Forum and contributed to global initiatives, especially in health and education.

In a message in Abuja, Kalu described Dangote as an outstanding Nigerian, recognised beyond the shores of Africa for his giant accomplishments in business and humanitarian circles.

In a statement yesterday, President of African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, recalled that from a very young age as a student, Dangote learnt how to do business and has excelled beyond all expectations.

The bank boss described Dangote as a business colossus and a name recognised all over the world.

He said Dangote has been listed as the richest man in Africa for 10 years consecutively and by Forbes as one of the world’s billionaires.

According to him, Dangote’s fame is not just about the fortunes he has, but about how his businesses are changing the lives of people in his home country Nigeria and all over Africa.
