The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, rising from its National Executive Council Meeting, NEC, has adopted “Indirect Primaries” to select Candidates that will represent the party in the 2023 elections, including Presidential Standard Bearer.



Meanwhile, Buhari urged the National Working Committee to hold the party together as high handedness had driven some strong members out of the party.

During the NEC, the leader of the party, President Muhammadu Buhari and other party stalwarts observed the political protocol of stepping aside by transmitting NEC powers the National Working Committee led by the newly emerged Party Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu to take critical decisions within 90 Days, covering Presidential primaries.



The NEC also gave approval of 50% discount for nomination/expression of interest form for Youths contesting on the party platform. It however specified those at the age of 40 and below.

The NEC puts Presidential Nomination/Expression of interest at N100 million. The party’s national publicity secretary, Felix Morka, disclosed this shortly after the 11th National Executive Meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.

The nomination form would go for N70 million while expression of interest forms would go for N30 million.

while that of the Governorship aspirants would have to cough out N50 million.



The party Chair, Adamu, reiterated the fact that Constitution of the party only recognises Governors as the leaders of the party.

In continuation of its encouragement for women to join in the political process and national development, female aspirants are to get their forms free while People With Disability (PWD) would also obtain the forms at no cost.

Opposing an earlier announcement by the party’s national women leader, Betta Edu, that the women will get free forms, Morka said women are entitled to free nomination forms but will pay for their expression of interest forms.

Meanwhile, the national leader of the party was absent at the meeting though no reason has been adduced.
