2023: Ikechi Emenike Picks Abia APC Guber Form Despite Zoning Principle In Abia

Not minding the zoning principle in Abia State, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Ikechi Emenike, has procured the party’s form to contest governorship election of Abia State in 2023.

Granted that Emenike’s resolve to join the Governorship contest for 2023 may not be totally ruled foul but the party stakeholders are of the view that APC is not in lack of qualified men and women from Abia North.

Emenike, a former All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) governorship candidate in Abia, is the husband of the Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Dr. Elizabeth Emenike.

Recently, he was accompanied by his associates to pick up the nomination form at the party secretariat in Abuja.

Those with him include Dr. Nelson Uwaga, Chairman Governing Council, Federal College of Education; RT. Hon. Onuigbo, Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency; and Sir Frida M. Nwosu, National Welfare Secretary APC.

As it stands today, his alleged high handedness and lack of team spirit has rather caused divisions in the party.

It is expected that the House should be in unison if they are interested in wrestling power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which has performed poorly in the state
