2023: “The Future Of Young Nigerians Outside APC” – Adamu Garba

Adamu Garba has attacked the All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming the ruling party is not the best option for Nigerian youths.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Garba’s comment followed his resignation from the Party earlier this month.

The presidential aspirant under the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) said during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, that the APC cannot strengthen Nigeria’s Democracy.

“The future of the young people is outside the APC. And the best solution for me to do, is to go to a platform that will give us a better way forward, a better programme, a better democracy, to be able to advance the idea of the new generation of Nigerians. And that’s why we moved to the YPP,” the 39-year-old said.

Many are of the opinion that youths need to become more involved in political parties, parliament, political appointments, elections and civic spaces as a matter of right (rather than of benevolence as it is sometimes suggested) and as part of the solution rather than a problem to be resolved by others.

Despite the NotTooYoungToRun (NTYTR) law of 2018, Nigeria’s political space is still overtly dominated by the old generation and god-fathers, who determine who gets what and favour their cronies to the detriment of many young Nigerians that are willing to participate in politics.
