2023 Presidency: I Will Unite Nigerians – Atiku Promises Nigerians
Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has promised to unite and rebuild Nigeria.
He made the pledge after he emerged the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the 2023 general election.
Atiku clinched the much coveted ticket during the presidential primary of the main opposition party.
He polled a total of 371 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State who garnered 237 votes.
Wike was followed by former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who polled 70 votes.
Reacting, Atiku on his Twitter page said he is honored and looks forward to passing the message of hope and unity to Nigerians.
He wrote: “Today, the battle to rebuild and unite our great country moves forward. I’m honoured to be named the @OfficialPDPNig candidate.
“I look forward to speaking with Nigerians across the country, taking the message of hope and unity as we build one future for one people. AA.”
