IMO 2023: The Day Ngor-Okpala Collapsed For ACCORD PARTY



ACCORD PARTY has become a beautiful bride in Imo State with developments in the polity if it has not become a Third Force that will oust the big two.

While the name of the party rings bell with its landmark electoral victories and association with notable politicians in the state.

Emeka Nwajiuba, the immediate past Minister of State for Education won his House of Representatives election on the platform of ACCORD but he relinquished the election after some horse trading.

With the schism and crisis rocking the major opposition Peoples Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress (APC) that may implode due to disgruntled members who felt embarrassed by their technical ousting from the party and gross maltreament.

Recently, like a wild fire, the people of Ngor-Okpala tore their membership cards of their different political parties and collapsed into ACCORD, saying they will follow their trust worthy son, Engr. Okere Augustine Ukachukwu.

However they warned him never to bring any strange fellow to them, stressing they are tired of being eternal facilitators and being ditched at the end of every political season.

Speaking, Engr Anderson Ekeh said; “Ngor-Okpala has remained an eternal facilitator . Are you assuring us that when we are done with. Has he told the people of Umuowa about his ambition.




“I am not a politician but I am Fidelis Ekeh. I will assist you in whatever way I can. I don’t follow politicians but I believe in you. I don’t think it’s a bad thing for Ngor-Okpala to have a leader with integrity who can represent the local government at any level.”

He commended Engr. Okere for the meeting. He however observed that 80% Ngor-Okpala people are committed to one political project or the other but not on the issue that will bring about greater glory for the local government and the State. “I am happy that you brought ACCORD Party to us. I will be part of the Coordinator but we hope that you vie for Governorship for us”, he enthused.

Ikechukwu Animodu of Ward 9 advises thus; Engr Okere is a man of grace. You cannot fight someone with grace. He however warned him to wary of some people who present themselves as leaders yet they are the major problem of the local government. “Be courageous and remain focused”, he said.


Comrd. Francis Ndubuisi Ekpe… Charvon was the one who betrayed Owerri zone. He pledged to support with everything in me. He prayed God to protect. He called for one mind and unity among Ngor-Okpala.

Speaking to his people, Engr Okere commended and thanked his people – leaders and stakeholders of Ngor-Okpala for coming out en mass to answer his call which was short noticed.

He appreciated their commendation and resolve to join him in ACCORD Party to change the narrative as it concerns the state of joblessness and insecurity in the state.

He stated: ” With what I have found in ACCORD, there is no way we cannot bring the desired change to the people and the state in general.

He assured them that the party will produce the next Governor of Imo State, saying that the only strategy the party has are the people who are tired of the present state of cluelessness occasioned by pseudo leaders.

“ACCORD is ready to make it right. We shall address the perennial state of insecurity, joblessness and large scale looting of the commonwealth.

“I know that Ngor-Okpala and other local government areas are going through a lot. We cannot continue to be mere facilitators, if nothing else our roads should be accessible and our youths should be kept busy positively.”

The high point of the meeting was the presentation of the Standard Bearer of ACCORD seeking represent Ngor-Okpala state Constituency at House of Assembly, Hon. Goodluck Okere from Imerienwe, Upe Ward 5, which was received with wild ovation.

Shortly after his address and lavish refreshment, the elders and other stakeholders joined him in a close door meeting.
