The Imo State government, in her effort to make fast-food and supermarket centers hazard free environment for customers, has concluded a Public Safety programme tagged ” Safety Standard and Regulations” which held in Owerri between 14th and 15th June 2022.

Addressing journalists shortly after the event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Safety, Hon. Prince Ugochukwu Nzekwe stated that His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma out of his heart desires that people are safe whenever they visit fast-food and supermarkets in Imo State.

Saying, it’s their duty to informed business owners things needed to do in making sure safety facilities are available in their various business environment, adding so that customers will be free from hazard.

Nzekwe, revealed as a government it is also their duty to regulate them through inspection, advise, and provision of some safety equpments so that Imo State will be a better place to live.

He also hinted, after the sensitization if any stakeholders fail to adhere on this safety measures, says that the law empowers them to seal up their places.

He further advised the participants, the need to make good use of the training and charged them to be safety conscious and indeed help customers that visit them for business to be safe in their business environment.

According to him, the approval was given for them to train stakeholders in Imo State, revealing that the programme which will run into segment noted having done with the Association of Fast-food and Supermarket, would engage banks, oil companies, hoteliers, and government owns establishment.

Meanwhile, one of the participant who spoke to journalists Mr. Paul Uyonwu Operational Manager from Owerri Mall, thanked Imo State government for organizing such a wonderful safety training programme.

Adding, many of the participants benefited describing it as well designed and packaged , says their company is an international company noted they provide all the necessary safety measures to prevent customers from hazard he said.

However, some of the speakers who spoke at the event Madu Augustine ( PHD) Imo State Chairman of Occupational Safety and Health Association, and UK liaison Imo State Chapter, and Mr. Iwuchukwu Obinna, from Imo State Fire Service Office in their speeches extensively stressed out the need for fast-food to always maintained a healthy environment, and fire safety response with practical experiment was also witnessed.
