Fathers Are Unsung Heroes – Madumere

Former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere on Sunday joined other well meaning Fathers to celebrate himself and other Fathers.

Speaking about the Day, he said those who thought about such a day must have got the inspiration from God.

Madumere described Fathers as true heroes who watch over their families, toil day and night to ensure that everyone at home is safe, secure and comfortable.

His words: “The society has made it in such a way that Fathers are only heard but never celebrated.

“They toil each day that passes by, think for everyone and go to work to ensure safe secure and comfortable home for all still no one blinks. ‘It is their duty people will usually say”, he said.

“I understand what my Father went through and as a Father, I understand better. I hold him as my heroes because he thought me everything I knew as a young man.

“I implore fathers also do more by creating time for their children because every child believes in his father, especially when you draw them closer.

“Fathers must also create room for recreation and relaxation because itbis usually difficult at old age when our spent energy and mal-nourished body begin to protest.

“For our Wives and Children, Fathers are hardly seen around because they always try to keep their own part of the responsibilities. It is only right that we show them love, care and encourage them by appreciating their efforts and respecting them.”

He also called on Fathers to always go for medical checkups to maintain a good health so as to continue to play their vital roles at home and in National Development.
