Madumere Commends Akeredolu For Constructing A Memorial Park For Owo Shooting Victims

The former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has commended Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State on his decision to build a memorial park in remembrance of the victims of Owo killings.

The former Deputy Governor made the statement while speaking to NewsTrack Nigeria, describing Akeredolu as a compassionate leader who loves his people and is ready to go all hug in their protection.

Recall that on June 5, 2022, there was a mass shooting and bomb attack at a Catholic Church in Owo town, Ondo State. In that attack 41 congregants were reportedly murdered in cold blood by terrorists.

He described the the unfortunate incident as a repulsive history of wickedness that would remain painfully fresh in the hearts of the people.

He commended Akeredolu for his resolve to come up with a memorial, describing it as a reminder to all and sundry that such incident should be avoided at all cost as it would also usher in a new vista in the relationships among the people.

“Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is a leader whos passion for humanity is never in question. He foresaw the calamity before it happened when he took a strategic step to address the calamity that was waiting to happen through legislation and policies to forestall breakdown of law and order.

“It was unfortunate the terrorists in reaction chose to desecrate a worship centre and massacred over two cores of precious lives. We pray to God to continue to console the affected families, he said,
