Breaking: INEC Declares APC’s Aliyu Ahmed Governor-elect of Sokoto
The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has declared Aliyu Ahmed Sokoto the winner of Sokoto Governorship election.
Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress, APC won the governorship election after polling 453,661 votes.
He defeated his closest rival from the PDP, Umar Saidu who scored 404,632.
Recall that Aliyu was defeated in the 2019 Sokoto governorship election under a controversial circumstance to the extent that the results were delayed.
With this victory, he has been vindicated that his popularity among the people of Sokoto state is never a fluke after all.
