Labour Party’s Standard Bearer, Alex Otti Floors PDP’s Ahiwe To Win Abia Guber Poll After Four Days
Following a drama of thuggery and votes padding by the Abia Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu led electoral thieves, Abia State gubernatorial election was postponed as a result of stand-off between Labour Party in collaboration with Abia people against the Peoples Democratic Party.
It is said once beaten, twice shy. Otti has gone through these huddles before now and had been taught the hard lesson of deception, manipulation and naked electoral malfeasance.
96 hours after the Guber election, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Wednesday, finally declared Alex Otti, the candidate of the Labour Party winner of the March 18 governorship poll in Abia state.
Otti had polled a total of 175, 467 votes to defeat his closest rival, the Abia government backed Okey Ahiwe of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party who scored 88,529 votes.
Meanwhu, Mr. Enyinnaya Nwafor, the candidate of the Young Peoples Party, YPP, came third after polling 28,972 votes.
Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO, Professor Nnenna Oti, subsequently declared Otti the Governor-elect having polled the highest number of votes and satisfied all necessary conditions.
