They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny Him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good (Titus 1:16 NIV).

Disloyalty is the opposite of being loyal. It is lack of loyalty. A disloyal person is not faithful or trustworthy. Spiritually the person is not committed. There is absence of allegiance, devotion, obligation, faith or support to the things of God as a child of God. Sin is a major factor for being disloyal to God. Sin is the transgression of God’s Law in 1 John 3:4.

A disloyal person is disobedient. The Lord does not regard the request of those who cherish iniquity in their heart (Psalms 66:18). It is also written that the one who turns his ear away from listening to the Law, even his prayer is an abomination (Proverbs 28:9).

Gahazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said to himself; “my master was too easy on Naarman, this Aramean, by not accepting from him what he brought. As surely as the Lord lives; I will run after him and get something from him” (2 kings 5:20, NIV). That act of disloyalty caused him his office. “The leprosy therefore of Naarman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed forever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow (2 kings 5:27NIV). Gahazi becomes disloyal as a result of material possession. Naarman refused to obey God and was disloyal to God and his master Elisha.

People who do not recognize and fear God will certainly not be thankful to Him. Such ones forget Jesus’ injunction in John 14:15 “If you love me keep my commandment”. “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.” (Romans 1:20-21).

Any plan or disposition that will not take into consideration the ultimate reality of the existence and instruction of God will be in vain. It pays to fear God. It pays to show gratitude to God by obeying His commands

Prayer:
Dear father, search me and see, if there be any trait of disloyalty in me, please cleanse and deliver me, give me the power to overcome sin through Christ name, Amen.
