Ohakim Felicitates Gov. Uzodimma On His National Honour Award, Others

The former Governor of Imo State, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim has extended his goodwill message to the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma on the conferment of National Honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), on him by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The former Governor’s felicitation was expressed in a press release he personally signed dated May 29, 2023.

Chief Ohakim known for his historic Clean and Green Policy during his administration said the worthy recognition did not come to him as a surprise attributing to his Uzodimma’s many years of, both as private and public sector administrator, contributions to the unity and development of the Nigeria.

The former Governor said he cherishes the honour because he has had years of shared vision with Hope Uzodimma that border on the potential greatness of Nigeria and Imon State in particular.

Recall that Uzodimma was also honoured with the highest Award by the Rivers State Government and was presented by the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

The statement reads:
“I join millions of other Nigerians in congratulating my bosom friend, political ally and compatriot, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo state, on the conferment of the prestigious national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

“This national recognition did not come to me as a surprise, given that His Excellency has, over the years, and both as a private sector operator and public servant, made immense contributions to the unity and development of our great country, Nigeria.

“The honour is of particular importance to me, personally, given that we have had years of shared vision about the greatness of Nigeria and our dear state, Imo.
I have no doubt in my mind that this development will encourage His Excellency, more than ever before, to work more tirelessly and selflessly for the repositioning of the state and for a more coherent and virile nation.”
