Topic: Let All that You Do Be Done in Love
Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong” (1 Corinthians 16:13)
As the Corinthians awaited Paul’s next visit, they were directed to (1) watch—be on guard against spiritual dangers, (2) stand firm (fast) in the faith, (3) be brave, (4) be strong and do everything with kindness and in love. Today as we wait for the return of Christ, we should follow the same instructions. We need to be kind to people irrespective of their background, tribe, age, religion and so on. Christ demonstrated His love for us by giving His life for us. He bids us to love one another.
We need to stand firm in faith and be brave in doing thus said the Lord. As Christians, we’re to call sin by it’s name, and be bold in condemning evil no matter who is involved. Remember that God did not give us spirit of fear, but of power and sound mind.
God wants us to be selfless in our relationship with others.
We should respect people in our work with them just as Paul did to Timothy not minding his age. Although Timothy was young, Paul encouraged the Corinthians to welcome him because he was doing God’s work. God’s work is not limited by age. We are not too young to go where God wants us to go, or do what He wants us to do. We are to lovingly point people to Christ. We should be bold and brave in dealing with divisions, selfishness, disorder in worship, wrong attitude, and so on. We should not ignore problems in our lives. Instead, like Paul, we should deal with problems head on as they are arising. We should learn to maintain unity and love everytime and anywhere as true Christians we are
Thoughts for Reflection
Are your actions and all that you do love based? Do you really love God the way you ought to? Are you anticipating His coming? Or are you afraid of seeing Him? Those who love Christ are looking forward to that wonderful time of hisHis return. Christ return should be the very best we could look forward to.
Song
O Master, let me walk with Thee
In lowly paths of service free;
Tell me Thy secret; help me bear
The strain of toil, the fret of care.
Prayer;
Lord God, we want to walk with Thee. On our own we can do nothing. Please Lord order our steps. We us to love and respect one another. Help us to point people to Christ. Remove every form of selfishness, disunity and hatred. Grant us the Spirit to love and treat people kindly in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen
