Topic: Walk by faith not by sight

For we walk by faith not by sight” 2 Corinthians 5:7.

Before the children of Israel could cross over Jordan to possess the land of Canaan which God had promised to their great forefather Abraham, Moses sent twelve men, one from every tribe of Israel, to spy the land. They were to find out how easy it could be to conquer and possess them. When the spies came back, ten of them gave reports based on fear, on sight. They said that the cities were walled, full of disease and great giants before whom they seemed like grasshoppers. They said it was not possible to enter the land. As the Israelites began to weep, Joshua and Caleb rose up and told them not worry because even though it was not going to be easy, with God, they would conquer them. This was because they have great Faith in God who had done so much for them in the past.
The people were angry and afraid. They cursed Moses and murmured against God. They forgot how God brought them out of Egypt, passed them through the red Sea on dry land, gave them water and food. God was angry on them because they no longer trust Him. He told them that all the adults except Joshua and Caleb will die there in the wilderness and He will allow their children to cross over and possess the land. All these came to pass because they had no faith. To have faith means to believe the word of God and to do what it says. God created the world we see today by faith, so for us to overcome anything as children of God, we must have faith.
Child of God, I encourage you today not to be like the spies who had no faith, rather be like Caleb and Joshua who trusted God and He blessed them and allowed them to live and possess their blessings.

Thought for Reflection:
What does walking by faith and not by sight
look like in everyday life?

Song :
My faith looks up to thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Saviour divine;
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away,
O let me from this day
Be wholly Thine.

Prayer :
Lord Jesus, help me to trust that You are there for me, even when I doubt in my faith journey, always help me to know that You are working in the midst of what I cannot see. I ask for your strength today to live a bold life and make me to live by faith not by sight in Jesus name, Amen

Parents/Grandparents Virtue Prayer challenge – KINDNESS.
Lord, may my children and grandchildren always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. (See Eph. 4:32 and 1 Thess. 5:15.)
