Imo NDDC Chair Felicitates Akpabio On His Emergence As Senate President Of 10th National Assembly

The Member Representing Imo State in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC Board), Hon Kyrian Chudiebere Uchegbu PhD has congratulated Senator Godswill Akpabio on his emergence as the Senate President of the 10th National Assembly and consequently the number three citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Hon. Uchegbu communicated his delight on Senator Godswill Akpabio’s elevation during an interactive session with newsmen in Owerri shortly after Akpabio was returned as the Senate-President of the 10th National Assembly yesterday.

Dr Uchegbu who has been a staunch disciple and an ardent follower of Governor Hope Uzodimma described Senator Akpabio as the Lion of the Niger Delta Region, having garnered the much needed experience in governance as a former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, as a Senator and as a former Minister of the Ministry Of Niger Delta Affairs.

He expressed optimism that the Akwa-Ibom born Federal Law Maker will bring his wealth of experience to bear on the leadership of the 10th National Assembly and will complement the good political cum administrative acumen of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He also hailed President Tinubu for his focus and determination to change the narrative. “Our President has in less than two weeks after his inauguration proved to Nigerians that he was prepared to emancipate the country from economic recession, social, ethno- cultural jingoism and political mediocrity.

“His discernible feat can be deduced from his recent political and administrative decisions, culminating in the recent passing of the Student Loan Bill and the Bill pegging the retirement of judicial officers to 70 years, with his audacious announcement on the fuel subsidy removal, while making moves towards the provision of palliative measures to curb the negative effects of the removal, something that the preceding governments did not have the gumption to accomplish,” he enthused.

Hon. Kurian Chudiebere Uchegbu Ph.D, Commissioner representing Imo State in NDDC Board.

According to Dr Uchegbu, ” it is only a president like His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has the effrontery to take such drastic decisions aimed at bettering the welfare of the populace at the detriment of few political elites and cabals that can achieve these giant strides in less than a month. He has proved to have the interest of Nigerians at heart no matter whose ox is gored”

The Doctorate Degree holder in History and International Relations from Imo State University went down memory lane to describe President Bola Tinubu as the reincarnation of Chief MKO Abiola Of Blessed Memory whom, according to him, was a symbol of selflessness, doggedness and
national unity tinted with unwavering temerity and political goodwill.

According to the grass root politician who had seen it all in grassroot political domain, having been the Leader of the Oguta Legislative Council, Town Union President, Special Adviser to the Member representing Imo State on the NDDC Board, and Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on Niger Delta Affairs, revealed in an elated manner that the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, with his plethora of legislative and executive experience, will indisputably broker a synergistic relationship between the Executive and Legislative Arms of Government.

He commended the senators of the 10th National Assembly for having elected a round peg in a round hole. This, he maintained, will enhance national development.

He enjoined every Nigerian, especially people from the Southern region to eschew all forms of parochial politics and sentiments as, according to him, national unity and peace overrides all other interests, reiterating the importance of the Senate Presidency to the South South, South East, South West and the Niger Delta Regions in general.
