Tributes As Ex-Deputy Governor, Madumere Turns 59

The Social Media network was on fire yesterday as the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere yesterday turned 59.

Loyalists, followers, admirers and associates celebrates with the former Deputy Governor in style even as his official Facebook account also had admirers wish well.

Prince wrote on his Facebook handle:

Hurray! Join Me In Celebration, It’s My 59th Birthday!!

“Friends, it is a season of celebration and thanksgiving for the Lord Jesus has done this great thing in my life. Yes, it’s my Birthday, another circle of life begins in my life.

“I give God, the omniscience and the Omnipotent all the glory for His mercies and grace upon me and my family.

I feel very much younger with a sound health. God has granted me the Favour pursuing my dreams and aspirations of joining hands with like minds to bring happiness to the hearts of many.

It’s not by might and not by power but by the spirit says the Lord of hosts.

Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere was Imo State Deputy Governor between 2013 to 2019. Before his emergence as Deputy Governor, he was the Chief of Staff, Imo State Government under Rochas Okorocha adminstration.

Prince Madumere who is from a Royal Family of HRH, Eze Henry Anoruo Madumere of Ezi Autonomous Community, Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State, was born in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

He is an astute Administrator, Management Consultant and a Compassionate Politician.

Recall, he was one of those who, as a Deputy Governor, survived impeachment attempts, even as the Court of Competent jurisdiction with the presiding Judge, Justice Iheka, declared his purported impeachment null and void on 28 September, 2018. This was made possible by the intervention of the Leaders with good conscience, Civil Society groups, the Media and the masses who ceaselessly protested the kangaroo and purported impeachment until the a Court of Competent jurisdiction dismissed it.

He served out his term in Office though his benefits and other statutory earnings are still being contested even after the Federal Industrial Court had ruled in his favour. It was reported that the present Hope Uzodimma government appealed the Judgement.

During his time in Office as the Deputy Governor of Imo State, he took the initiative of ensuring that the failed efforts of the previous governments to securing Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP) came to fruition.

It is unfortunate that the French Development Agency/World Bank Assisted project that could have given the State over 400 kilometers of Roads with about 12 river crossings is unfortunately being mismanaged for political reasons.

Prince Eze Madumere’s legacy of competence in Crisis Conflict Resolution resonates. He practically solved rampant restiveness in oil bearing communities and other communities with related skirmishes. He achieved peace by ensuring that every MoU entered into with Oil exploring firms was followed to the letter. And those who were non committal to their host communities were brought to the table for a discussion with the affected communities.

He was rapid in responding to issues that bordered on the masses, especially when it came to arbitrary treatments by some overzealous government agents against the masses, which gave their government some human face.

He was also diligent in attending to the boundary skirmishes to ensure that no one took laws in their his hand. He proactively engaged his Deputy Governor colleagues to ensure strategic engagements or resolutions were achieved.

He was a governorship aspirants under the ruling All Progressives Congress party.

Madumere remains highly influential in Imo State politics even though he has focused more on his business and national politics.

While his followers and loyalists had sought his participation to vie for the State Governorship election come November 2023, he simply recused himself without disclosing any reason.
