JUST IN: President Tinubu Orders Review Of N8000 Palliative For Dying Nigerians

Nigeria’s President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has reportedly ordered the immediate review of the proposed N8000 conditional cash transfer to Nigerians to cushion the effect of the petrol subsidy removal.

In a statement on Tuesday night, Dele Alake, special adviser on special duties, communications and strategy, said Tinubu has also directed that the whole gamut of the palliative package of government be unveiled to Nigerians.

“That the N8,000 conditional cash transfer programme envisaged to bring succour to most vulnerable households be reviewed immediately. This is in deference to the views expressed by Nigerians against it,” the statement reads.

Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as soon as he was inaugurated pronounced the end of subsidy on petroleum products.

After that autocratic pronouncement without carrying a hoot about the contributions of the critical stakeholders, Nigerians have become even more impoverished than ever.

Till date, Tinubu has yet to tell Nigerians how they came about the subsidy on oil, including the barter arrangements with other multinational Corporations.

Issues that border on refineries and production have taken the back seats while inhuman capitalists have the field day.

It is worrisome to note that some Nigerians are beginning to sense a collusion of the Presidency with some folks to milk the poor to death.

With Tinubu’s refusal to consider the pieces of Adobe from the Labour, Civil Society groups and the Common Nigerians, the so called review may also be at the whims and caprices of Tinubu’s business associates.
