Title: Be a Source of Encouragement
For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. Ephesians. 1:15-16
Our commitment in the things of God can move godly persons to pray for us to continue in our zeal and love for God. It is always good for us to commend people who are zealous for God and emulate them too. We pray God to strengthen them so that they will not grow cold in well doing. When we commend them, they will be encouraged to do more, but when we castigate them, they will feel bad and become discouraged. When someone makes a presentation like singing, reciting or preaching, and didn’t do it well, we need not laugh at the person or scornfully criticize him or her, instead we commend in the area that was done well, encourage the person to do more. And then we shouldn’t cease to commit such into our individual prayers, that God gives the person more knowledge and understanding. We need to grow in grace emulating Apostle Paul who never stopped praying for the brethren at Ephesus. He was always concerned about them.
Thought for Reflection
Have you ever prayed for someone in need?
Have you ever thanked someone for doing something good?
Have you ever felt bad when some persons laughed at you after making a presentation?
How did you feel when commended for doing something very well?
Song
Someone is praying for you 2×
When it seems that you’re alone,
And your heart will break in two;
Remember someone is praying for you.
I need the prayers of those I love
While traveling o’er life’s rugged way.
That I may true and faithful be,
And live for Jesus everyday……
Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for the gift of this new day. Forgive me in all the ways I have failed to encourage and care for my brothers, sisters and friends. Please help me to always be a source of encouragement to one another in you. Guide my thoughts and actions in Christ’s name. Amen.
