Man, 22, Caught For Allegedly Stealing Phone, Money In Imo Blames Hunger, Satan

A man who simply simplify identified himself as Fabian was earlier today caught for allegedly stealing a fitness instructor’s phone and money.

The incident happened in Pre-Fab Housing estate near Startrite School Field.

The suspect who was forced to lie in gutter with face facing up claimed to be 22 years old confessed to perpetrated the crime after his victim with the help of the neighbours caught him while trying to escape after committing the crime.

According to the Victim who simply gave his name as Lucky, “I stopped by to exchange pleasantries with two members of our fitness club. I saw the man lurking around not knowing he did not mean well. I left my phone in my training bag with N3000.

“Shortly after a brief talk with our members, it struck me that the young man had left. I went straight to where I kept my phone and money only to discover they were missing.

“Realising this, I jumped on my motorcycle and started trailing the man, I was lucky I found him still within the estate trying to escape through a route and went after him. I raised the alarm as the neighbours within the Pre-Fab estate came out and we were able to catch him. The phone was still on him with my money. I recovered all “

Meanwhile, residents claimed they have have been having experiences of robbery in the area. They queried Fabian to know if it was his gang that have been terrorising the residents in the area.

When this reporter sought to know what the suspect was doing at the estate, he claimed he was in search of menial job in the estate.

He said he is from Plateau State, even as he regretted his action and blamed Satan and hunger for his action.

The neighbourhood said they would hand him over to the police even as some of the Hausas who ply their trade around the area, especially the Commercial Cyclist riders, were summoned to identify him and ask some questions.

As at press time, effort to reach the Police Public Relations Officer proved abortive as his phone could not go through.
