Anthony Joshua Landed Three Successive Uppercuts Before KO With Stunning Right Hand

Anthony Joshua showed what he can do when he lets his hands go against Kubrat Pulev, as he KO’d him in spectacular fashion.

The pair clashed in 2020, with Joshua coming off the back of a win in his rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr, having previously lost his titles at the hands of the Mexican in one of the great upsets in heavyweight boxing history.

But, against Pulev, Joshua briefly got his career back on track, as he demonstrated the power punching that made him so feared as a young fighter.

In the first round of their fight, both men began tentatively, but it did not take long for Joshua to start unleashing his devastating combinations.

In round three, Joshua landed an excellent counter right hand that wobbled Pulev and later in the round an uppercut toppled the Bulgarian.

Somehow, Pulev returned to his feet and survived all the way until round nine.

But, at this point, Joshua seemed to get a second wind, as he put relentless pressure on his opponent and as the round wore on, he caught Pulev with four brutal uppercuts in a row.

This was not the end, however, as the brave Bulgarian remained resolute, until he was hit with yet another uppercut that dropped him.

And after rising once more, Joshua broke through with a thunderous right hand that saw Pulev collapse to the canvas, lying there flat on his back, as the referee waved off the contest.

This marked the most recent KO of Joshua’s career, as he has gone on to lose twice against Oleksandr Usyk and then return with a unanimous decision victory over Jermaine Franklin last time out.

But, on Saturday night, Joshua will undoubtedly be hoping to add another knockout to his record when he comes up against Robert Helenius at the O2 Arena in London.
