Topic: Be A Faithful Servant (Obedience).

As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellow servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ”. Col. 1:7.

There are so many stories in the Bible that talk about faithful people but I will bring to us a few.
Joseph was the first son of Rachel and the eleventh son of Jacob (Israel). He was faithfully obedient even when he was sold to Potiphar in Egypt. Right in Potiphar’s house, he was still faithful and obedience to all the rules governing Potiphar’s house and most especially the law of God. Being obedience doesn’t means you will not face challenges, persecution and perhaps, this may come from those closer to you. Just like Joseph, he was persecution by his brothers and was faced with serious challenge in Potiphar’s house, he was imprisoned for being faithful, but the bottom line is that at last, he was crowned a crown of glory for being faithful and Obedient, he was a governor in Egypt.

The story of Joseph made us know what will be our reward if we serve the Lord Faithfully and obediently. God has promised us that He will honor those who honor Him, and just as He did for Joseph, He will lift us to the level we could never imagine or think of.

The three Hebrew boys. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were taken captives to the land of Babylon. They were faithful and Obedient to the commandments of God, for this reason, when King Nebuchadnezzar made a decree that everyone should bow down and worship the image of gold which he has set up, whosoever refuses shall be cast into the lake of fire. The Hebrew boys were obedient to God’s commandments that they rather die than disobey God. As a result of their refusal to bow to the golden image, they were thrown in the fire, but Jesus just as He has promised to protect His own, descended into the fire and the heat of the fire turned to air conditioner (AC) to the servants of God.
It’s very true that whether you’re small or big, young or old, when you obey God, He will be your protection and your defense, for God will not let the righteous to be put to shame. The lord has promised us that if we obey Him, then we shall be like Mount Sion that shall never be moved.
Do you want your future to be brighter, there’s only one way to the fulfillment of it, which is total obedience to God and also your parents and elderly ones.

Thought For Reflection
Think about the life of Joseph.
Think about the life of Daniel.
Then think about how your life would be if you obey God’s commandments.

Song
Savior, teach me day by day,
Love’s sweet lesson to obey,
Sweeter lesson cannot be,
Loving Him who first loved me.

Prayer :
Dear Lord in heaven, we confess those times that we were not faithful and Obedient to you, our parents and elderly ones and pray that you will forgive us and give us the ability to start now and never stop to be obedient, for we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen
