Topic: God Is A Respecter Of No Man.

But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons”. Col 3:25

Ahab was a king in Israel and his wife was Jezebel. He owned a lot of property and acquired much wealth for himself. He deviated from the way of God and chose his own way. Unfortunately it wasn’t the right choice. He married from the forbidden nation, going against the authority of God. The wife Jezebel was very wicked on all angles and she did not fear the God of Israel.

Despite all the wealth that king Ahab had acquired, he wasn’t satisfied and yet longed to have the little plot of land, the only life savings of Naboth. This was the sum of wickedness and greed. Selfishness overwhelmed him that he acted according to the advice of his wife. When Naboth refused to offer him the land, he and his wife conspired and killed Naboth and took the land.
He forgot the Lord God Almighty was watching him. He exalted himself forgetting that whosoever exalts himself shall be brought down to nothing. Forgetting the commandments of God and was happy about it .
The Lord does not rejoice in iniquity, He does not take pleasure in wrong doing. The Lord sent His prophet Elijah, to go tell Ahab that for what he had done; the dogs shall eat his flesh and the fowls of the air shall leak his blood, his and his wife Jezebel! And it was so.

What ever the Lord has said is true and will surely come to pass. He rewarded Ahab and his wife Jezebel as a proof of His faithful words.

As children, we might have been thinking that to lie isn’t harmful, that it’s just a little thing. Let me tell us, lying is very dangerous and very harmful. It can kill, it can destroy your future. It can rob you of good opportunities and above all, it can take you away from God.
Ananias and Sapphire his wife both lied thinking that they were lying to Peter, forgetting that God is everywhere. They both received their reward with instant death.
But today in our society, it is a common thing to lie. Husbands lying to their wives, and wives to their husbands. Children lying to their parents and parents to their children. Friend lying to friend, colleague to colleague, brother to sister and sister to brother, church member to church member and neighbor to neighbor. What kind of reward do we intend to receive from God, are we expecting good reward with these attitudes of ours?.

Remember, God is a respecter of no man. He is not afraid of any man. He doesn’t tremble because of anyone, whether a king or slave, free or bond, citizen or stranger; old or young, big or small, He gives a faithful reward.
Let us try to emulate Christ, let us follow His footsteps. Jesus is ready to help us receive the best reward from the Father. Let us cooperate with Him as we do our little part.

Thoughts for reflection
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap”. Gal. 6:7. Jesus can help us sow a good seed so as to receive a good reward.

Song
Take the Name of Jesus with you,
Child of sorrow and of woe,
It will joy and comfort give you;
Take it then, where’er you go.

Refrain
Precious Name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of Heav’n.
Precious Name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of Heav’n.

Take the Name of Jesus ever,
As a shield from every snare;
If temptations round you gather,
Breathe that holy Name in prayer.

Prayer :
Thank you Father for revealing these things to us, help us to abide by your word in Christ’ name we pray. Amen.
