Imo Palliative Trauma: Workers Wallowing In Abject Poverty, Angry With Gov Uzodimma Over Paltry One-And-Half Paint Of Rice As Their ₦5 Billion Share

While other States of the Federation publicised their well thought out plans on how to share the ₦5 billion Palliatives to the suffering layers of the polity, Imo State Government plans is shrouded in shady approach.

NewsTrack Nigeria (newstrack.com.ng) in its investigation discovers that the much routed Palliatives may have been high jacked after all.

Speaking with some of the Imo State Civil Servants randomly, they disclosed that each of those who has received only got about one and half paints of rice since six persons were alloted on bag of rice.

Lamenting one of the workers who insisted the government of Hope Uzodimma prefers to see them dead.

“I believe that all that government cares for is the homogeneous monthly allocation from the both JAAC and FAAC to take care of their overheads and other fat running cost, leaving us to die.

” For the so called Palliative, we are mere guinea pigs because how can one explain it. Six workers for one bag of rice”, he queried.

Meanwhile, some Ministries and agencies are not sure whether it will get to them.

The government of Imo State under the leadership of Gov. Hope Uzodimma had boasted it had increased the salaries of its works.

Speaking with one of the workers who happens to be a senior staff laughed to scorn, asking our reporter to please leave her alone.

After some persuasions, she simply said a salary increment that is about ₦800 should not be an issue of public discourse and pleaded to be left alone.
