Title: Finding strength in Jesus
“ Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say.” – 2 Thessalonians 2:17
Sometimes we may feel like giving up when things get tough. Maybe it’s when we’re facing a difficult challenge, feeling overwhelmed, or when things just don’t seem to be going well. We may face pressure to do things that go against what we believe in, just like the early Christians in Thessalonica. But we have good news! Jesus is there to comfort us, give us hope, and provide the strength we need to keep going.
Just like the Thessalonians, When we feel like giving up, we can stand firm in our faith every day of our lives. The Gospel isn’t just something we believe in once, but it should shape the way we approach each day. We can stay connected to Jesus through prayer, reading the Bible, and being around other people who follow Him. These things remind us of His love and grace, and they help us find the strength we need to persevere. Jesus wants us to follow Him and do what is right, even when it’s hard. And we can find strength in knowing that one day, Jesus will come back and make everything right.
So, when we feel like giving up, we can remember that Jesus is our hope. Knowing that Jesus is coming back one day to set things right can give us hope in any situation we want to give up on. We can trust that He will make everything right and bring justice and peace. This assurance gives us the courage to keep going, even when things seem difficult. We can trust that God is working things out, and that gives us the courage to do what’s right. knowing that in the end, everything will be okay. He gives us the strength to keep going.
Reflect
There an area in your life where you feel like giving up?
- How does knowing that Jesus is coming back to set things right give you hope in that situation?
- Who are the people in your life who encourage you to follow Jesus? Song :
Jesus is all the world to me,
my life, my joy, my all;
he is my strength from day to day,
without him I would fall.
When I am sad, to him I go,
no other one can cheer me so;
when I am sad, he makes me glad,
he’s my friend.
Jesus is all the world to me,
I want no better friend;
I trust him now, I’ll trust him when
Life’s fleeting days shall end.
Beautiful life with such a friend,
Beautiful life that has no end;
Eternal life, eternal joy,
He’s my friend. Prayer :
Dear Jesus, thank You for being our strength and hope. Thank You for always being there for us and giving us the strength we need. Help us to stay connected to You through prayer, reading the Bible, and spending time with other followers of Jesus. Give us the strength to keep going when things get tough and remind us that You will return one day to set all things right. In Your name, we pray, Amen.
