Title: Holding On to Hope in Times of Persecution
” Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring. All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.”2 Thessalonians 1:4-5
Have you ever felt like things were tough because of your beliefs in Jesus? Maybe people made fun of you or treated you differently because of your faith. Well, you’re not alone! The early Christians in Thessalonica went through some really hard times too.
Even though they were facing troubles and persecutions, the Apostle Paul was so proud of them! He saw how they stayed strong and kept their faith despite all the challenges. They showed perseverance and faith in the face of tough times, just like you can too!
You might be wondering, why should we keep going when things get tough? Well, here’s the good news – when you endure through hard times because of your faith, it shows that you trust in God. It’s like a big sign that says, “Hey, God is so worth it, and I am ready to stand up for Him no matter what!”
Remember, God is always watching over us, and He sees all the things we go through. He sees your struggles, your tears, and how you stand up for Him. And guess what? He thinks you are so special and worthy of His kingdom! Your faith and perseverance are not in vain. They make you shine brightly in God’s eyes.
When things get tough, it’s easy to feel discouraged or want to give up. But here’s the secret: you have hope! Hope in Jesus, who loves you and promises to be with you always.
So, my dear friends, let’s hold on to hope together. Let’s keep being strong in our faith, just like the believers in Thessalonica did. Let’s remember that God is always with us, no matter what we face. And let’s trust that our perseverance and faith will help us shine His light in the world.
Song
A mighty fortress is our God,
a bulwark never failing;
our helper he amid the flood
of mortal ills prevaling.
For still our ancient foe
doth seek to work us woe;
his craft and power are great,
and armed with cruel hate,
on earth is not his equal.
Prayer
Dear God, thank You for loving us and being with us when things get tough. Help us to stay strong in our faith and remind us that we are never alone. Give us the courage to stand up for You and keep trusting in Your promises. Thank You for considering us worthy of Your kingdom and for giving us hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
