Title: Avoiding Love of Money and Greed

“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” 1 Timothy 6:10 (NIV)

Greed is like a sneaky tricky monster that can cause all sorts of problems. It’s like a never-ending hunger that can never be satisfied. Today, we’ll see why it’s important to avoid loving money too much and how it can lead us down the wrong path. We’ll learn to be content with what we have, and that’s the real treasure.

Think about something you really, really love. It could be your favourite toy, a delicious treat, or a cool game. When we have things we love, it makes us happy, right? But when we always want more and more of them only for you and never for others, that’s greed.

Greed is like a sneaky monster that can make you forget about what really matters, like your family and friends. It can also lead to problems and make you feel sad. But here’s the good news: being content means being happy with what you have right now, like a big scoop of your favourite dish.

So, today, let’s think about the things you love and appreciate. How can you be content with what you have and avoid desiring to have it more and more only for you and never for others? Remember, real treasure is found in your heart and in the love and happiness you share with others.

Remember, real treasure is found in your heart, not in material things. By being content and avoiding greed, you’re choosing to be a hero of love and selflessness. Keep making the right choices, and you’ll have a life filled with joy and contentment.

Thought for Reflection:
Greed can make you forget what truly matters. Take a moment to appreciate the people and blessings in your life. How can you be content and avoid wanting more and more? Remember, real treasure is found in love and gratitude.

Song:
Spirit of the living God,
Fall afresh on me!
Spirit of the living God,
Fall afresh on me!
Break me, melt me, mold me, fill me!
Spirit of the living God,
Fall afresh on me!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we ask for your guidance in avoiding greed and the love of material things. Instead, help us to find contentment and treasure in our hearts. May we make choices that lead to joy and selflessness, remembering that real treasure is found in our love for you and for one another. Help us never to succeed in what does not matter to You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
