Title: Choosing Friends Wisely
”So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” (2 Timothy 2:22)
Your friends can have a big impact on your life, so it’s important to choose them wisely. In 2 Timothy 2:22, we read, “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” This verse reminds you that the company you keep can influence your choices and behaviours. Surrounding yourself with friends who share your values and faith can help you grow in a positive and godly way.
Think about your closest friends. They’re the people you spend a lot of time with and share your secrets and adventures. Your friends can be like teammates in the game of life. Just like you choose your teammates in a game carefully, you should choose your friends wisely in real life.
God wants you to have friends who encourage you to do the right things and make good choices. When your friends have the same values and beliefs as you, it’s like you’re all playing on the same winning team.
But sometimes, you might encounter friends who try to lead you down the wrong path or convince you to do things that you know are not right. In those moments, it’s important to remember today’s text from 2 Timothy. It encourages you to have friends who call on the Lord with pure hearts, which means friends who share your faith and values.
So, surround yourself with friends who lift you up, support you, and help you grow in your faith. With good friends by your side, you’ll be better equipped to live a life that pleases God.
Your friends are like teammates in the game of life. Choose them wisely, and you’ll have a winning team that supports you in living a life that pleases God. Good friends lift you up and help you grow in your faith.

Heavenly Father, guide us in choosing friends who support our faith and values.
