Title: Strengthening Our Faith
Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed. Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. Hebrews 12:12-15
Have you ever tried to lift something heavy and found that your arms felt weak? Or maybe you’ve been running for a while and your knees started to feel wobbly? Or have you ever felt weak or discouraged? Maybe you’ve faced challenges that made you feel like giving up? In the Bible, God encourages us to be strong and to keep going, even when things get tough. Just like our physical bodies, our faith can sometimes feel weak too. However God wants to help us become stronger!
In the Bible book of Hebrews, God tells us to strengthen our feeble arms and weak knees. But how do we do that? Well, just like how we exercise our bodies to become stronger, we exercise our faith to become stronger too in our relationship with God. One way to exercise our faith is by reading and learning from the Bible. The Bible is like a guidebook that shows us how to live in a way that pleases God. When we read the Bible, we can learn about God’s love for us and His promises to always be with us. This knowledge can give us strength and courage to face any challenges that come our way.
Another way to exercise our faith is by praying. Prayer is like talking to God, and it helps us build a strong relationship with Him. When we pray, we can tell God about our worries, fears, and joys. We can ask Him for help and guidance. And when we listen, we can hear His voice speaking to our hearts. Prayer helps us stay connected to God and strengthens our faith.
God also tells us to make level paths for our feet. This means that we should choose to do what is right and follow God’s ways. When we make good choices, it not only brings peace to our lives but also helps others around us. We can be a light in this world by showing kindness, forgiveness, and love to everyone we meet.
So, let’s make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy, just as God asks us to. When we do this, we will experience the joy and blessings that come from following Him. And remember, without holiness, no one will see the Lord. Let’s strive to be holy and live a life that pleases Him.
Thought for Reflection/Life Application
Think about a time when you felt weak or discouraged. How did you find strength? Did you turn to God and His Word? Reflect on how exercising your faith can help you become stronger in your relationship with God.
Song
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!
Prayer
Dear God, thank you for reminding us to be strong and for always being there for us and for giving us the strength to face challenges. Help us to exercise our faith and to trust in You. Strengthen our feeble arms and weak knees so that we can walk in Your ways. Guide us in making good choices and living in peace with others. May our lives reflect Your holiness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
