Quarter 4 GEC: Obafemi Awolowo University Alumni Association President Urges Members On Quality Service Delivery, Impeccable Character

The Global President of Obafemi Awolowo University (Great Ife Alumni) Association Worldwide) Barr. Fred Aburu has charged members to always render quality service, display impeccable character as the hallmark of training received while in school.

This is even as he urged them to display sagacity, acumen and dexterity as exemplified in the university’s crucible wherever they find themselves.

Barr. Aburu made this remarks at the 4th quarterly meeting of the Global executive council, held in Owerri, the capital of Imo state .

He emphasized that the training they received in Ife was aimed at excellence and expressed excitement that members all over the world are measuring up to expectations.

According to him , to whom much is given much is expected. “We are a people of excellence, a thorough breed and will always display these at all times.

“You have tremendous potentials, a lot have been deposited in you and the end product should be perfect and excellent performance.”

The Global President submitted that there are two universities in Africa, Obafemi Awolowo University and others as exemplified by the level of teaching and learning made available by the institution.

Barr Aburu revealed that the citadel of learning represents the best in Africa and expressed delight that this is visible in the behavioral pattern of members as they dominate the scene world wide.

He called on members to take pride in giving back to society through sacrifice, aimed at uplifting their Alma mata. “We are not proud, but we must say it, loud and clear, we have two universities in Africa, Obafemi Awolowo University and others.

“This association is a Global one , we are here to give back to our Alma Mater in love and promote the association, we have to move forward, work for the unity and progress of the University.

In his comment, chairman Great Ife Alumni Association, Owerri branch , Chief Charles Okeke encouraged his colleagues to continue to work collectively for the association.

Chief Okeke stressed that their watch word is to act swiftly and work together tenaciously. He commended them for their commitment in projecting the association.

The event was graced by members of GEC from across the country. The Vice President, South West, Barr Ajibola Falode who led other members from the zone was present.

We also had the presence of the Vice President South South/South East, Rev Dr. Joseph Effiong who also led a large number of Executive members who attended.

The Global Public Relations Officer, Great Edward Eivwah was present even as he thrilled the guests with classic jokes, throwing the atmosphere into frenzy.

Chairman (Emeritus), Barr NBE Nwigwe who opened the dance floor with the Global President added colour to the evening of glamour with his speech of progress and struggle. With him were Dr. Kenneth Dike, the Vice Chairman of the Association, Owerri Chapter, Dr. Uzoma Nwachukwu and Dr. & Mrs Berthy Okorochukwu.

Hon. Commissioner For Special Duties, Chief Dr. Okey Anukwuem who is also the Chairman of Special Committee for the Quarter 4 GEC and wife were also present. Meanwhile, other members of the Committees, Professor Chima Dominic, Dr. Joe Enyi Eze, Global Welfare Officer, Ego Chilaka, Mr. Great Oseni Jibril, Great Chinedu Kemka, Hon. Uche Onwuchekwa among others were effectively on present.

Meanwhile, we had league of Professors led by Commander, Prof. Emeghara Godson were also present. Chief Ford Ozumba with Mazi A. Ohia, Pharm. Cyril Okafor (CYMPOK), Chief Ken Eloka Oyeka to mention but a few.
