Nneoma Mbanefo, Public Health Graduate, Says, ‘2024 Is A Year To Build My Career, Business’, Celebrates Birthday In Style

Anambra born Public Health Graduate of Madonna University, Ms Nneoma Maryclaret Mbanefo, has described 2024 as a year she has resolved to take her career and business to another level.

Nneoma Mbanefo spoke to Kelvin Nwankwo, our Deputy Editor, Entertainment & Events, reeling out her regrets and next move to reposition self.

Birthday

I give God all the glory for His grace and mercies upon me and my family. Today, January 2, 2024 is my Birthday.

The celebration is happening live in Umuoji – Anambra State. I baked a special cake for this day and I am celebrating with my loving parents, siblings and extended family members. Despite the challenges of the country, God remember me. Who am I that should have souch love for my and my family.

I give Him all the glory and that’s why I am celebrating.

Education & Career

I graduated from Madonna University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. I have also done my mandatory National Youth Service Corps, which took me to Warri in Delta State. That stage is done and dusted. It is worthy of note to mention that I served in the hospital and actively, too. So, as a Public Health Worker, I know my onion.

Next Move

I am from a very responsible family which has a philosophy of hard work and determination to succeed. By the Special Grace of God, my lovely parents are here doing their best in building us to success. I am the youngest in the family but that does not mean anything because you must be seen to be holding your own and making effective effort to succeed.

As soon as I graduated, I learnt how to bake and today, I am very competitive in any kind of pastries with perfection in Cakes with added value of ensuring we consider the health of our clients.

I have done cakes for celebrity weddings, Corporate anniversaries and many others. In a bid to up my game, I have also done so much in catering. So, if you have any job for me, just rest assured that a taste will make you an advocate.

Why The Deviations From Your Core Career?

It is important to mention that in my family, we are all trained professionals. My brothers are Engineers, our eldest sister is a Nursing practitioner and is also gainfully employed in one of the Federal Government Hospitals but has not stopped her from periodically managing other opportunities.

Our eldest brother lectures; he is a research fellow, too, but he still does business to meet up with other needs.

As a Lady, while waiting for Mr. Right to do the needful and the Career job to come, I must be moving forward. Sometimes, I go to the family business outlet to help out. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. I must be able to protect myself from vampires by keeping busy and moving up.

It may also interest you to know that I have also gone far in Data Analytics, which is highly needed even in my area of core competence, Public Health.

Today, it’s all about Tech. Again, whatever happens, man must ‘chop’ and marriage and weddings will always happen because these are cultural Universal. Even at home as a mother, one should be able to fix things for the family, especially for the children.

Igbo Languages And Culture

It is unfortunate that most of our brothers and sisters are not interested in our Language and Culture. I speak Igbo fluently, especially my dialect. Igbo language is going extinct but certainly not for people like me. My parents taught us well. The first identity for anybody is your language and your language is number one in the people’s ways of life.

I understand our culture and the hallmark of it is our character; character of respect, enterprise, dress sense, food among others.
