Title: God’s Word: Our Guide to a Successful Life

My son, keep my words and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Proverbs 7:1-2.

Have you ever seen someone hold something very precious and valuable? Maybe it’s a special toy, a favorite book, or even a treasured family heirloom. They hold it so carefully, making sure it doesn’t get damaged or lost. That’s how God wants us to treat His commandments and His law – like something incredibly valuable and precious.

The Bible is full of wisdom that is meant for everyone, including kids like you! God wants us to succeed in every part of our lives, so He gave us His words to learn from. In the book of Proverbs, it says, “My child, remember what I say and never forget what I command you.” (Proverbs 7:1). So, what are these words that we are supposed to remember? They are words of life! Jesus said, “The words I speak are full of the Spirit and life.” (John 6:63). It’s like a seed that is planted in our hearts and grows into something beautiful and fruitful.

God’s words have the power to create, build, and transform our lives. Every word He speaks is meant to help us live a perfect life in Christ. He also gave us commandments to guide us in our daily lives. Just like how we need rules to have a peaceful and orderly society, God’s commandments help us make good choices and avoid chaos.

Before God gave the commandments to Moses, He provided food for the Israelites in the desert. He wanted to see if they would obey His laws. It’s important for us to obey God’s commandments because they lead us to life and blessings. In the book of Ecclesiastes, it says, “Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Remember, God’s laws and commandments are like a guidebook for our lives. When we choose to live according to His word, we are choosing life. But if we ignore His commands, it leads to disobedience and death. So, let’s choose life by being committed to following God’s ways. When we do that, we will find true fulfillment and joy.

Thought for Reflection:
God’s words and commandments are meant to help us live a good and happy life. Just like a seed that grows into a fruitful tree, the words of God have the power to create, build, and transform our lives. Let’s make it our duty to obey Him and follow His ways. By doing so, we will experience the blessings and fulfillment that come from living in obedience to God’s word.

Song
Holy Words Long Preserved
For Our Walk In This World
They Resound With God’s Own Heart
O Let The Ancient Words Impart
Words Of Life Words Of Hope
Give Us Strength Help Us Cope
In This World Where’er We Roam
Ancient Words Will Guide Us Home

Ancient Words Ever True
Changing Me Changing You
We Have Come With Open Hearts
Oh Let The Ancient Words Impart

Prayer
Dear God, thank you for giving us Your Word as a guide for our lives and your commandments that are not grievous. Help us to understand and apply Your teachings so that we may live in obedience to You. Help us not to derail but to keep obeying and trusting in you for everything. Give us the strength and wisdom to choose the path of life and to be committed to the things that bring fulfillment. In Jesus’ name, amen.
