Title: A Wise or A Foolish Son? Choose!
The Proverbs of Solomon; A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son brings grief to his mother. Proverbs 10:1.
Solomon’s wise words tell us that a smart kid brings happiness to their dad, while a silly one makes their mom sad (Proverbs 10:1). Parents hope for joy, but sometimes kids act in ways that cause them pain.
Imagine a wise child as a happiness superhero for their parents. They make good choices, listen, and make their mom and dad proud. It’s like a winning recipe for success and honor.
Now, think of a foolish child as a forgetful superhero. They forget the good times, the care they got before they were born, and even the yummy milk from their mom. A foolish kid does things that make their mom upset. It’s like choosing the wrong path that leads to problems and headaches.
But here’s the secret code for kids: If you want a super cool life, obey your parents, be respectful, and make them happy. God even promises that if you do this, everything will go well, and you’ll have a long, awesome life (Ephesians 6:1-3). So, here are three cool thoughts for you:
- Get your superhero wisdom by making good choices and listening to your parents. It’s like a joy portion for your family. They’ve been around longer and have some pretty good advice. Sometimes it might not sound fun, but trust me, they’re looking out for you.
- Your actions don’t just affect you but also the people you love. Think before you act. Don’t just jump int things without considering the consequences. Would your grandma be proud of your choice? Would it make Jesus smile? Be a joy-bringer!
- Make choices that make God smile. It’s like having a superhero life filled with wisdom and goodness. Thought for Reflection:
Dear friends, remember, making good choices and being respectful brings joy to your family. Your actions have superpowers, and they can either spread happiness or sadness. So, choose wisely! Let’s practice being joy-bringers. Help out at home, share a kind word, and listen to your parents. Small acts of love can be your superhero moves! Song
Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee,
God of glory, Lord of love;
Hearts unfold like flow’rs before Thee,
Hail Thee as the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness,
Drive the dark of doubt away;
Giver of immortal gladness,
Fill us with the light of day! Prayer
Dear God, thanks for making us part of our awesome families. Help us be joy-bringers by making good choices, being respectful, and spreading love. Guide us, oh God, to be superheroes of joy in our homes. Amen.
