Title: Truthful Hearts: Choosing Honesty to Delight God”
Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, But those who deal truthfully are His delight.” – Proverbs 12:22
“God doesn’t like it when we tell lies; it’s like an evil thing to Him. In the Bible, it says that telling the truth makes God happy. Imagine if you had a friend, and they always told the truth – that would make you happy too, right?
There’s a story in the Bible about a couple named Ananias and Sapphira. They sold something and said they gave all the money to God, but they actually kept some for themselves. God didn’t like that, and when they lied, something really bad happened to them. It’s like a lesson that God wants us to always be honest and not pretend.
So, here’s a cool idea: let’s be like the disciples who shared and cared for each other. God loves it when we’re honest and kind to others. If we choose to tell the truth, it’s like giving God a big smile, and who doesn’t want to make God smile? So, let’s choose truth and make God really happy!”
Life Application / Thought for Reflection
Think about a time when telling the truth made a situation better. How did it feel to be honest? This week, challenge yourself to be a truth-teller even when it’s hard. Remember, being honest is like planting seeds of kindness that grow into something amazing!
Song
Sing along to the tune of “Jesus Loves Me”:
🎶 “I’ll be truthful, yes, I’ll be,
For God’s delight, that’s my key.
Lying lips, I will defy,
In God’s truth, I’ll live and fly!” 🎶
Prayer
Dear God, thank you for loving us and wanting us to be truthful. Help us to be like superheroes of truth, making You happy every day. Help us to be brave and choose truth, even when it’s tough. Guide us to share and care for others like the disciples did. May our honesty bring a smile to Your face.We want to be Your delight. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
