Chief Alban Okeke For Burial on April 20 As Sons Pay Glowing Tributes

The family of Chief Joseph Okeke of Umuanaeke in Enugu-Umuabi Community, Udi Local government area of Enugu State have announced the burial arrangement for late Chief Ogbuefi Chimelu Alban Okeke on April 20, 2024. He was aged 92.

The funeral arrangement was communicated in a statement signed by his First son, Mr. Ignatius Afam Okeke.

According to him: “Late Alban Okeke was a community leader known for his humane and philanthropic legacies. He believed in community development, which elicited his joining hands with other well meaning kimsmen to ensure a progressive Enugu-Umuabi and beyond.

“He was a devout Catholic who was committed to the Catholic Christian doctrines. He stood for what is right and till death he never departed from his belief in golden rule.And it is for this strength of character that he was loved by people of goodwill. As a member of “Igwe in Council, his contributions are well known by our people.”

In the same vein, his second son who is a United States based businessman, Hon. Victor Okechukwu Okeke said; “It is true that there is no death that is not painful, especially, losing a loved one. My Dad transited at a ripe of 92 but we miss him because of what he stood for.

“We take solace in the Lord because our Father led a good life. He was a great father who sacrificed all for his children and ensured that we were not only educated but with good morals as he was a no nonsense Father.

“It is now left for us the living to live out his legacies of strength of character, humane spirit and standing up for the truth. 

Meanwhile, late Chief Ogbuefi Alban Chimelu Okeke is survived by his lovely wife, Ezinne Constance Ify Okeke and his five children; Chief Ignatius Afam Okeke, Hon. Victor Okechukwu Okeke, Engr. Ngozi B. Okeke, Engr. Chigaekwu Okeke and Engr. Ugochukwu Okeke. Others are Step Sister, daughters-in-law, many grand children, and many other Okeke extended family members
